Explore. Don’t stop
Steve Jobs once said when you first start off trying to solve a problem, you will unlikely come up with an elegant and simple solution.
“When you first start off trying to solve a problem, the first solutions you come up with are very complex, and most people stop there. But if you keep going and live with the problem and peel more layers of the onion off, you can often times arrive at some very elegant and simple solutions.”
~ Steve Jobs
Designing an elegant and simple solution is a challenging quest that is even more daunting in situations requiring a sprint.
However, remember that crafting the best solution is not a one-time endeavor.
Do not stop and hastily fall in love with the first idea that comes first.
Remain confident, yet open to being surprised, criticized, and bewildered by new possibilities.
Do not be discouraged if the first solution you design falls short.
Your initial concept might not be the best solution for solving the problem.
The first information architecture and user flow you design may not be the most effective way to interact with users.
Your initial layout may not achieve the best balance between form and function.
Here are the mindsets to adopt:
Explore variations to uncover other possibilities.
Iterate to refine an idea further.
Explore. Don’t stop.
